2014 Open House

On September 6th, from 10 AM until 2 PM we will be having an Open House at Hillcrest Animal Hospital. This Open House serves many purposes but the most important by far is to serve as a fund-raising opportunity for Fixed Fur Life.

Fixed Fur Life is a wonderful local organization out of Belleville run by Darlene Quincey. The purpose of Fixed Fur Life is to help reduce the stray animal population in the area by neutering feral animals as well as helping low-income families have their own pets neutered. They also help low-income people afford emergency veterinary services for their beloved pets. They have helped a huge number of people and spayed/neutered thousands of animals over the last number of years. Please visit their website and read about this wonderful organization and leave a few dollars behind with them or feel free to drop some off at our Open House!

We will have some Belleville Bulls players present throughout the day and we will be presenting the winner of our Bulls Season Tickets draw with their tickets! Congratulations to Colleen Vickers!

Dr.Fiona Gilchrist will be raising money for her planned 50 km bike ride to raise money for the Farley Foundation. Also present will be Dr. Andrea Sorichetti demonstrating the chiropractic services she has available for dogs. Lisa-Marie Guernon of Muzzles and Snouts will be present with her Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder dogs-in-training. Lisa-Marie has undergone extensive training and has received government licensing to train PTSD dogs. We are immensely proud of her here at Hillcrest.

Dr. Adrianna Sage will be performing “teddy bear surgeries” for the younger folks to attend and participate in. Darlene Cannon, one of our Registered Veterinary Technicians will be running “Be-A-Tree” dog-bite prevention courses for the youngsters. There will also be ultrasound and digital x-ray systems equipment demos. Meanwhile the remainder of our staff will be available waiting to assist you in exploring our hospital.

We will have free cake and coffee, baked goods for sale and other fund-raising efforts going on. So please set aside some time to come and see us on September 6th. We will be looking forward to the opportunity to meet potential new clients and familiar faces and show off our hospital. Come and take a look behind-the-scenes, meet our wonderful staff and see what the rest of our hospital is like!
