Natacha Bessay-Torfs joined Hillcrest as a veterinarian in October 2019. She grew up in Uxbridge and bounced around in Ontario before settling in Brighton with her two dogs and two cats. She likes reading, new adventures, and anything outside (except ticks). She has worked as a tree planter, an intervenor with DeafBlind Ontario Services, and in wildlife rehabilitation at the Toronto Wildlife Centre, but wanted to be a veterinarian since she was a little girl. She graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2015 where she met her partner and has worked in the Northumberland-Quinte region ever since.
She has developed a special interest in reproductive medicine and palliative care and loves to help people make sure their animals stay healthy and comfy. So far, she is loving everyone at Hillcrest Animal Hospital and how warm and welcoming they have been, and how dedicated they are to their patients and clients.
Fun fact: if you are down and need a pick me up, she can easily be nudged into a song and dance.
