Fleas and ticks are a big concern for our pets. Both can be year-round and be a huge nuisance to our pets if left untreated and can cause serious illness.

How can you tell if your dog has fleas & ticks?

Fleas are very hard to see themselves as they are very small and fast. Generally, we detect fleas by finding flea dirt on our pet by using a fine-tooth comb run through their hair. Small black specs that look just like little tiny specs of dirt but when moistened turn red as it is actually flea poop which is blood. Ticks are generally noticed on the pet and can be mistaken for a wart or blend of skin. Ticks can carry many diseases and it is important to protect your pet from them.

How do you prevent fleas & ticks in dogs?

Fleas and ticks can be prevented with a monthly dose of medicine which comes in a topical solution or as a tablet form.

What are the treatment options for ticks in dogs?

Prevention for ticks in dogs come in different options of once a month, topical or pill form or a once every 12-week pill form.
